Go to Brooklyn!

Brooklyn Bridge (On tentative list)

Completed and opened without the use of electricity, the Brooklyn Bridge was used primarily for horse-drawn carriage, pedestrians/bicycle, and railcar. It is an American icon and one of the most widely recognized modern monuments in the world.

The Brooklyn Bridge should be visited in 3 ways, all of which offer rewarding opportunities to take great photographs.

Walking the Bridge

Brooklyn Bridge

Preferably from Brooklyn to Manhattan, you will see the magnificent skyline. Expect fellow pedestrians and people getting in their morning / evening workout. I've done this walk twice and got this rush of excitement, Brooklyn / NYC are just fun places to be.

View from DUMBO

Specifically various views within the Brooklyn Bridge Park in the morning. You are looking up toward the bridge from most sections of the park.

View from the East River Esplanade

Morning or evening views, though I have a preference for the evening lights. This is perhaps a top location to take pictures of the full span of the bridge.

We can probably expect a nomination sometime in the 2030's. Which would be fitting to mark 150 years since the bridge opened (1883 to 2033). NYC really should have more world heritage sites and Brooklyn Bridge is an icon of the city.
