I try to spend every day of my vacation time (lately, limited to 28-30 days per year) travelling. I travel either solo or with my wife or with the whole family. Since 2024, when my children grew up a bit (as of 2024 the older is 12, the younger is 9) and do not require constant presence of their parents, I decided to increase the frequency and pace of my travels.

I love going to remote places and always plan visiting as many WH sites as possible. Although sometimes WHS (and especially TWHS) are not rewarding, in most cases visiting them gives me much better understanding of the region I visit.

Recently I focus my trips around regions that are WHS abundant. But when there is opportunity to visit a very remote WHS (such as the Minaret of Jam) on a budget (i.e. with like-minded people willing to share the costs), I forget about this rule. One rarely visited WHS is more worthy for me than 10 easy ones.

I find this site very helpful in planning my trips to WHS or TWHS and want to pay back by writing reviews of some places that are not on the bitten path.

My most impressive site: Angkor

My proposal for a new site: Khor Virap
