Austria
Austria ratified the UNESCO World Heritage Convention on 18 December 1992. Its World Heritage sites include predominantly cultural properties, alongside a single natural listing. Cultural nominations commonly focus on historic urban ensembles (Salzburg, Vienna, Graz), Habsburg palaces and gardens, industrial infrastructure like the Semmering Railway, and prehistoric lake dwellings in the Alpine region. The sole natural site is part of the Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests.
