Korea (DPR)

2.52
North Korea (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) accepted the UNESCO World Heritage Convention on 21 July 1998. Its inscribed listings are exclusively cultural, including the Complex of Koguryo Tombs (c. 3rd century BC–7th century AD) and the Historic Monuments and Sites in Kaesong dating from the Goryeo dynasty. These reflect themes such as ancient royal and funerary architecture, dynastic urban planning, observatories, and the transition from Buddhism to Confucianism.
