Ancien port d'embarquement des esclaves de Loango
Loango is a port from which more than two million slaves were deported from Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, Angola and Gabon, among others. Among the vestiges of this trade, there is a stele where the big market took place and three symbolic mango trees as well as the mudflat which was used as a wharf. The site is one of the most important sites in the Gulf of Guinea bearing witness to slavery and is of exceptional historical and cultural importance in relation to the kingdom of Loango.
