Ancient Towers of the Aegean Sea

WHS Score 0.0 Votes 0
The Ancient Towers of the Aegean Sea are a selection of ten ancient towers scattered across islands in the Southern Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean. The towers were built between the mid-4th and early 3rd centuries BC in rural surroundings outside of larger settlements. In most cases they served for defence purposes, but also as watchtowers or lighthouses.
