The city of Bangui developed from its start as a hill post in 1889 to an urban center on the plain below from the 1950’s on. The site includes the hill and the plain, the Oubangui river and the built colonial heritage of the city of Bangui. The latter includes the City Hall and the Post Office, but also a series of indigenous villages from the Banda and Hausa among others.
