Bestansur is a Neolithic site from around 7700-7100 BC, which makes it one of the earliest built settlements. It consists of a mound with mudbrick buildings. Plastered walls (including the use of red and black pigments) have been discovered at this archaeological site during excavations in the 2010’s.
