The Canyon of Rio Peruaçu contains archaeological sites and caves with rock art in a karst landscape. The area has been inhabited by people for over 12,000 years. The rock art is diverse, was created in various styles over different periods – also in interaction with each other. The paintings include geometric and anthropomorfic figures.
