Grand Erg Occidental

WHS Score 0.77 Votes 2 Average 1.0
The oases in the Saouara Valley and the Grand Erg Occidental form a cultural landscape in the Sahara desert. Foggaras - traditional irrigation systems – are used for palm groves and the supply for a number of Ksour (fortified villages). Adrar, Timimoun and Tidikelt are some of the larger oasis towns.
