The Pamirs are the largest mountain convergence zone that was formed by the convergence of the Tianshan Mountains, the Kalakunlun Mountains, the Himalayas, the Hindu Kush Mountains and the Jierter-Sulaiman Mountains.

This area is a concentrated area of modern glaciers of various types and on a huge scale. Complex migrations and combinations of biota in this region comprise a unique plateau flora and fauna.
