Kirkuk Citadel
The Kirkuk Citadel is the historic core of the city, including the Great Mosque, Al-Qaysariyah Market and the Chaldean Church. It dates from before the Islamic conquest of Iraq in the 7th century. The citadel with four main entrances stands on an artificial mound.
