Les carrières antiques de marbre numidique de Chim

WHS Score 0.76 Votes 1 Average 1.0
The ancient quarries of Numidic marble of Chimtou comprises the site where the most precious types of marbles in the Roman Empire, the antique yellow marble was exploited. Traces of its extraction and related constructions can still be seen, as well as the “sacred hill” with its three sanctuaries and its exceptional collection of votive reliefs dedicated to the African-Roman god Saturnus.
