Muara Takus Compound Site

Muara Takus is a Buddhist temple site dating from the 12th and 13th centuries. It comprises one of the largest and best-preserved ancient temple complexes in Sumatra. Remains of four temples can be seen. With its lotus-shaped stupa, Candi Mahliga, is similar to ancient structures in Thailand and Myanmar.
