Temple of Serabit Khadem

WHS Score 0.0 Votes 0
The Temple of Serabit Khadem in the Sinai peninsula comprises the remains of a temple of Hathor, the goddess that protected people in the deserts. Turquoise was mined here extensively in Antiquity and prisoners of war were used for the hard labour. Thirty incised graffiti in a "Proto-Sinaitic script" were discovered here and became known as the Serabit Inscriptions.
