The Green Route of Verapaz

WHS Score 0.0 Votes 1
The Green Route of Verapaz comprises Laguna Lachuá, Semuc Champey's staggered pools, Candelaria's caves and the caves of Lanquín. Lachuá is a karstic lake with a slightly sulphurous smell. Semuc Champey consists of a natural 300 m limestone bridge, under which passes the Cahabón River and atop is a series of stepped, turquoise pools. The caves are karst caverns with speleothems. The all lie in a national park covered with tropical rain forest and high biodiversity.
