Yaduataba Crested Iguana Sanctuary
The Yaduataba Crested Iguana Sanctuary has a size of only 0.7 square kilometres and encompasses the entire islet of Yaduataba, located close to the larger island of Yadu. The sanctuary protects the critically endangered species of the Brachylophus vitiensis (Fiji Crested Iguana). The species is endemic to the Fiji Islands, its habitat is tropical dry forest. Today only a few thousands of this rare iguana species have survived, the majority of them on Yadutaba.
